This month, we're going on a cryptid hunt, thanks to the fact that good ol' Nessie from "The Ballad of Nessie" won the poll! I'd call it very St. Patties appropriate...except she's Scottish, not Irish. As a mostly Irish gened person, I say 'close enough'.


Being a famous cryptid affords you very little privacy, especially when you live outdoors. Like, literally outdoors, homeless, really. Well, I guess she does live in the Loch. I don't know, but being a spongey domesticated human, a home doesn't feel like home unless it's got a floor, roof, and four walls. It's meant to protect from the elements, not...literally be an element.


Either way, once she steps out of the Loch, the extremely agoraphobic descendant of a plesiosaur is relentlessly pestered by papparazzi and cryptid hunters. It only adds to the overwhelming fear of leaving the Lock for a little while and drying out. Or in this case, a little scale scouring. Not always easy to get the built-up stuff off of those scales underwater, and unless she's looking to soap up the loch, a concentrated tub is the safest way to bathe.


I realized only after I got to the lineart phase that this is almost the same pose as Rose from last month. Granted, the context is different. This just...it felt appropriate.
