Have you ever read Cujo?
He's this big lovey ball of fluff, and then he goes chasing a rabbit, and it falls into an underground cave, and he sticks his head into the hole, and it pisses off the bats inside the cave, and they all try to fly out, but since he's such a huge ass dog, they can't get out, and one of them bites him on the nose, and he ends up getting rabies, and him and his owner lives on this really remote plot of land, and I THINK he kills his owner, and this lady and her son go to get their car fixed by the dude, but they get trapped in the car by Cujo, and then the cop comes (I forget how he gets notified that something's wrong), and I can't remember if the dog kills him, or if the cop shoots him, but.. yeah. Ultimately Cujo ends up dying, and so does the lady's son, 'cause he's like, four, and dies of dehydration.
