Paraceratherium bugtiense. A species of giant, long-necked, hornless rhinoceros that resembled strange giraffes. The elongated legs and neck are due to the fact that this genus of rhinoceros occupied an ecological niche similar to sauropods (giant, long-necked dinosaurs) and, to some extent, giraffes. Since there is no evidence of horns, it is believed that males competed for females much like modern giraffes. Paraceratherium bugtiense is not the largest species, but it is visually the most "balanced," standing about 4.8 meters tall at the shoulder and weighing 7.4 tons
