this day i went to see the movie "Die, My Love", which is basically a whole movie about going through postpartum depression, and honestly, it really felt harrowing
very uncomfortable and stressful movie, not something i'd like to watch more than once. very well made mind you, just super anxiety inducing for me. I was just wanting to get out of my seat essentially halfway through the movie, and just wondering when this was gonna end
pictured is the main character Grace, prowling around in the grass out in the lawn of the rural home the couple have moved into. I'm not exactly sure what this means symbolically for the movie, but she did this a lot

i love movies as a medium overall! it might be one of my favorite forms of storytelling, along with written stories and anecdotal re-tellings (having someone else tell you a story).
Since movies lend themselves to conveying themes subtly through visual language, as well as dialogue, i think when done right, they can at times have a huge impact on the viewer, once processed
it's a mix of going to the cinema with catbf, as well as watching movies at home which i've been meaning to watch for a while. in some of my November and Dicember entries i made some more movie imagery, as well as some already made 2026 journal sketches :3
and not only movies, i've also drawn single scenes i've read from books which i found impactful! both January and February 2026 have a few things like this! (been reading the Southern Reach books from Jeff Vandermeer)
and thanks!! i love making these film study drawings, even though my degree of aristic skill might not do them justice, i still love making these and having them as my own memory of that movie!
