- This was an 2x3 inch ink from a toss-off sketch page back around '95 or so...
Once i got a comp i tried colouring it (wiff a mouse) fr practice...it kept getting "almost there"...from Paintshop to Photoshop amd wacom tab to PainterX...
One of those "better to start over from scratch" projects. i've been silly to take the old versions forward and try to fix them along the way - it was juast a toss off drawing of a one picture character....i guess that was why i've been irrational with this pic (and many others)...trying to fix old pics, see where they might go...
Main lighting fx via Hardlight layer and airbrush in Painter X. Clothes and patterns via PaintshopPro 7...
Idea due to "last chance before cryogenic stasis and warp jump and shields failing and too insecure for the last year and no time left now...!!!!"
(They escape the missiles, btw, overshoot jump, find themselves back in home zone ten years later ship time, 100 yrs solar time....

The small in sketch shows in the background...
Early stages of digi painting on her were in paintshoppro7 with a mouse... PainterX was used in last few days to do hardlight layer, and back to PaintshopPro7 to do undies.
She's a Manx cat, stub tailed....There has been talk in the last few years of building a space port on the Isle of Mann , so it sort of fits in with my various stories.... :)

Working with a mouse is is pretty crazy.
Tablet is semi crazy - it takes a long time to get used to - that's why i spent five years doing nothing but digi stuff - i wanted it to feel as natural as picking up a pencil, pen, or brush...Returning to traditional media this year...No, it never felt as natural, but digi work still offers many advantages (the un-do option for one...) i'm pretty happy with a hybrid style using both.
