The marsupial wolf, also known as the thylacine, is an extinct species of carnivorous marsupial mammal that was once the apex predator of its time. But when British colonists began settling Australia, life became much more difficult for the thylacine. They were even accused of attacking cattle, which, in my opinion, would be more typical of dingoes. The last living thylacine was a male named Benjamin from a zoo in Tasmania. He died of old age on September 7, 1936
