The Day The World Turned Sideways was the most important day in Khi Nho’s people’s history. The day that the lands they knew seemingly collapsed - sending the people and their settlements tumbling down and crashing against the far wall of the room they’d called ‘home’.
It took many days of travelling in this sideways world, their bodies injured and their resources dwindling, before they ran into a group of tall, oddly-clad strangers. Those same strangers helped guide their group to safety - beyond the body of the enormous Rook that they had unknowingly been residing inside.
Khi was only a child when they were carried out of the confines of The Home Rook, both legs having been lost in the collapse. Now as a young adult however, with a grafted pair of Rook arms to serve as their new appendages, Khi is ready to travel out into the world under their own power!
The world they once lived in is gone - and the new world is strange, it’s rooms, settlements, and even people much larger than everything she had known to be true before. But it’s also exciting, and new, and real, and leaves her with so many questions. If all this was out here, completely unknown to her people… what other unknowns are out there? What else is out there waiting to be discovered - to turn her world sideways again?
And importantly… is there anyone else out there like Khi and her people, living in their own Home Rook, unaware of the wider world around them? And if so… is there anyone out there with answers as to where they all came from?
Khi has a lot of questions. And she intends to seek out the answers!
