Here we have something I kitbashed a long time ago and just recently decided to finally paint.
I wanted to create my own Chaos Lord and I took a good look at what I had when it came to parts, so I took a mount of the Thunderwolf Calvary, mixed some Chaos Space Marine and Space Wolf parts for the Chaos Lord himself and the psychic hood I got from one of my old wargaming buddies(if I remember correctly). For weaponry I went with a power sword and a combi-melta.
The objects on the base were just a bunch of random parts to help decerate and plus I did not use nulin oil on the Chaos Lord himself, instead I decided to use nightshade, I did use nulin on the objects under him but I am kind of tired of just slapping nulin oil around so I used the nightshade to help him pop a little more.
Also I decided to give this Chaos Lord a name and so I rolled on the tables found in the Path to Glory book for 40k 7th edition.
Name generated: Lothgan the Seeker
It has been fun catching up with my backlog of miniatures, as mentioned in some journals and stuff I think I will take a break from working on models, I am considering doing one more before giving the model stuff a rest. After all once I finish my Dark Angels the model side of things will go away, not completely at first, but to help ease things given how much space it actually does take up.
If I ever do play a Slaanesh-based force I will more than likely do it for 3rd edition 40k as it actually wouldn't require much and plus it would me do some more kitbashing, it is just modern 40k stinks... has been that way since 7th ed was given the boot, as it is no longer a real wargame with real planning and tactics.
There is another thing I want to touch on while I have everyones attention, because I know not everyone follows my journals and commentary posts(the latter of which are in the descriptions of drawings), but I am working on slowly coming back, not sure how long it'll take, but my goal right now is to post at least once a week not including possible journals and writing fiction has basically taken a backseat. Overall I am still thinking on figuring out some things when it comes to creating things and honestly trying to get back into the mindset of doing things for the fun of it, a little hard as I am still recovering from burnout but right now I am just focusing on smaller goals to try to bring me back around.
I do want to give a huge thank you to those who do view my stuff, especially my drawings, I know I am not the best but I am glad you see something in my work wheather it is the drawing itself, the lore tied to it and whatever else. Honestly if I have learned anything everyone focuses too much on the fancy eye candy... even when said eye candy can be extremely paper thin and has like 10 edits for no sobbing reason. Am I firing shots? *Laughs* Yeah, but hey, I am not being a ranting wolf this time about it as I have been for the past few years at least.^^ I love great art too, but sometimes a good story to go along with it, without the many edits does go a lot further even when the art isn't do flashy.
To add more to this whole making a bunch of edits thing, I really fail to see the point in making so many edits of what is the same drawing and either posting them all at once or posting one and posting the others behind a paywall of some description. It always gets a laugh out of me, because with the latter it is pointless because hey we all have imagination, doesn't really take much to understand and know what said edits are. And with the former it really is clear compensation for something else, yeah over time the image can change drastically but when the same thing can be done easily with a set of three to four... I end up just raising an eyebrow and honestly feeling a little bored. As I have said before, I can understand when the same art has two to three edits but any number after that and for me it can die down, my max number when it comes to this is probably 5. This is not me throwing salt, I am just trying to give some personal criticism and to be fair I don't expect it to be taken seriously in any real way.
Look, I am not the most outgoing person and to be fair I have been pretty stuck especially for at least the past year, but I am trying. Honestly even if I come back around, I probably am not going to be online as much as I use to be, I don't know that may change, but my main concern right now is the burnout hitting me again and the last thing I need is another crash. And so I have just been taking it slow and more importantly giving myself some time to just breathe. In me trying to do everything I forgot how to just relax and that is why I chose to take a step back the way I have.
Alright, I don't want this to turn into a long ramble so I will leave it here. If anyone wants to read more into it the first two journals I did when it comes to March of 2026 are the best spots to go to.
I hope everyone has a good day or night where you are^^ MagnumForce!!!
I have a few more pics of this guy on my DA, I will post a link to the submission over there here: https://www.deviantart.com/magnumwo.....You-1312591105
