So, While I am practicing elements I need to improve on (Anatomy, color theory, cybersigilism, etc) I want to work towards a very large project. This project being a large colored pencil piece using differing elements to create a unique piece (Realism, cybersigilism, and the center focal fursona).
I wanted to use 3 realistic parts of a raccoon's body, the skull, the paw, and the heart. While they will be shaded like everything else, I will be focusing on making them as realistic as possible. The color palette will be close together as well.
I also want to use cybersigilism to create a sense of cohesion while also being varied and unique. As long as I maintain balance, it should look great!
As for Diesel himself, I want to keep the style consistent, anatomy correct and accurate, and to color mindfully. I want the eyes to be correctly angled and aligned. I want the nose to be close to the face and large. The hand to be correctly positioned and maybe demonstrate pads (?)
Overall this is the goal of the early stages of practice. My practice checklist before I get started on this project are:
-Color theory (Creating dynamic and interesting combinations)
-Anatomy (Making sure I can accurately angle anthro heads, draw hands with paw pads, and align the different facial features)
-Cybersigilism (Practicing freeflow design, inking, and commitment without fear)
-Fur (Correctly shading and coloring fur)
-Blending (Continuing my work on blending colored pencils. Possibly biting the bullet on prismacolor as I have far surpassed the need for the ones I posses. My realism portraits using them are really well blended... Maybe I'll post one of them some day)
-Facial Expressions (I want to make sure I can make a diverse range of expressions using different facial features)
-Drawing other Fursonas (I want to combine all of these techniques to draw other designs for free!)
Once I have completed all of these challenges in the next 2-4 weeks that is when I will embark on this large challenge. If you have any thoughts, LMK!
Shoutout to
DanPinsel for the inspo behind this future project. Rock on!
