Clan Skryre Artillery Corvette (Skaven WH40K)
concept art for a future (someday, hopefully october 2026) commission with adamkopala, who made me this lovely skaven gunboat that's roughly two thirds the length: https://itaku.ee/images/1266181
adamkop makes great spaceships, but his work is always very clean and orderly which i've heard on /tg/ is not very skaven-like, but i figured that once they got to spacefaring level, the squeakas would have had to worked out the kinks in their designs because a non-spaceworthy vessel doesn't really get far and they would need genuine manufacturing capabilities beyond scrap heaps in ikit's workshop to compete with the other factions. the aesthetic that adam and i worked out is a well manufactured but barren, oppressive, industrial rust colored armor reminiscent of grease with green accents lit up by liquefied warpstone called warpfuel, that's meant to embody everything bad with petroleum fuels and nuclear (but for real, nuclear energy is totally safe and it's our only hope for de-carbonizing!)
anyway, i added an imperial raider-class corvette from Star Wars as a reference, although i'm not sure if this website supports transparency (it's a black silhouette). both ships are 150 meters long, although the artillery corvette is an impressive 90 meters wide and 30 tall. obviously, this is just a concept i sketched out but i plan on having 9 or 10 decks, with the large pods being 30 meter tall/wide angled squares, each one with the bulk of the living quarters. you can see some windows in the back that are properly scaled.
my idea for the skaven armada is that they spam countless numbers of small vessels that are well made, but don't really have the armor or shields to survive the big weapons of the imperium of man or other factions, but they make up for it in firepower, speed, numbers, economy, and construction speed. this vessel is sporting an oversized warpstone crystal that shoots a big beam after a long charge-up. something like this could pose a threat to a ship ten times its length and 80 times its mass (that's how mass works btw!).
i really do wish i could be making floor plans for absurdly large vessels, but i play adam based on the number of decks and it only takes an increase of 25.9% overall length to double the amount of decks, so even 50 meters or so is quite large as adam typically makes ships no longer than 100 meters, and i worry about bothering him.
