An older, outdated sketch of a character for the G&MR. This was drawn back when it had the working title of "North Windochshire". Yes, the drawing misspells "Windochshire".
Windochshire is the name of two things. The name of the town beside Gravendale Quarry, and the engine that serves them both. Windochshire, or "Wanda" as she's known by those she knows, is a custom order hunslet tank engine. She was built to navigate the narrow clearance of Windochshire's standard gauge tramway, which runs directly through and under the town. Her job is to take slate trains between Gravendale Quarry and the transfer yards on the opposite side of Windochshire.
She is strict and takes no nonsense, however only means well. She will often take time out of her day to help teach younger engines how to do their assigned work properly and efficiently. Though most avoid her, not wanting to listen to another one of her lectures.
