Kau'handts are unique oviparous mammals. Their eggs have a soft shell and develop independently after laying.
In the wild, the ancestors of the Kau'hand used to bury eggs in warm sand or green foliage, creating natural protection and warmth for them.
Today, all eggs are stored in specially equipped perinatal centers, and they are cared for by specialists and modern equipment.
By hatching, parents are notified of the upcoming birth, and if desired, they can observe the process of the baby's appearance.
The female carries the egg for about four months. The weight of the fetus at the time of delivery usually ranges from about 800 grams, while the egg body itself reaches a weight of 3.5 to 5 kilograms.
The development inside the egg continues for another six months: during this time, the fetus increases in size, absorbing its entire cavity.
Before hatching, the shell becomes thin and transparent, and the baby is quite capable of tearing this soft film with its claws.
A few hours after leaving the egg, the puppy dries out completely, begins to sit uncertainly and recognize his own kind.
The kau'handts grow quite fast. By the age of three, they begin studying in special schools, but their adolescence lasts quite a long time.
Between the ages of seven and seventeen, Kau'handts go through all the stages of adulthood: they change both physically and mentally, choosing their own path.
Some go to study at specialized educational institutions or military colleges, while others may become owners of arable land.
After reaching the age of twenty, kau'handts are considered adults. Up to the age of sixty-five, they are actively working, serving in the army, holding government positions and freely producing offspring.
However, with age, some professional restrictions come into effect.
The average life expectancy of a kau'handt is 80 years. The longest-lived were those whose age reached 132 years, which indicates a high life expectancy and good health.
