But left to grow
The shadow haunts you
And leaves you with sorrow

A vent art I did last year when I was feeling down and burnt out. Growing up neurodivergent without really knowing I grew up without teaching myself to say no. So I say yes to requests at the cost of my own wellbeing while constantly maintaining a sort of mask to appear "normal", like everyone else. It's like a suppressed shadow that you bury within it that was taught to help keep the mask on. With all that said, even with challenges left to face, I'm doing a lot better now. Don't worry. Just be kind to yourselves and know your limitations with your energy, especially mentally.
