Encounters are an inevitable part of many journeys. Many of them are amiable, some pleasant, some tense. It is a part of dragon's confidence, perhaps their folly, to have a lofty opinion of oneself. Yet there come times when we encounter one who sparks a rarer, inspiring feeling. One of admiration, of deep respect.
Such was the case of me meeting a rather outstanding bronze dragon in my travels. One wise in the ways of the world, with a regal cadence to match. Many a time in the past I have been asked to teach, but this time... I could learn. Such a refreshing notion to my mind. To learn again...
Sometimes, when the ground feels too limiting, like invisible shackles, we need a semblance of inspiration to soar. The sight of a shiny scale and the touch of a sharp mind.
Invigorating. Inviting. Tempting to explore, to rediscover curiosity.
This splendid piece commemorates my meeting with my friend,
Tempestus. Surely a remarkable one, since odd as it sounds, I have a particular liking for people who can humble me with their vast knowledge of sophisticated matters and a seemingly bottomless trove of stories and personal projects. Maybe sometimes it is really about admiring, rather than being admired.
The art itself is a wonderful work of
EnayaRay! Their craft is absolutely epic every time I see it, go check it out!
