Biography
“And just like that…my world…came to an end…” In an unknown world, a flaming being named Neo stood against a great terror that decimated his entire home. Family, friends, everything was devoured by this shadowy beast. And yet, he didn't feel alone as remnants of them empowered him alongside his ceaseless rage. Wielding a magically charged sword, he used all the strength he had left to fell the beast, but knew it would still be a threat. Considering the state everything was in, he ultimately chose to seal it away within himself and let himself fade into nothingness…or so he thought. But who is “Neo” and what happened to him to get to where he is?
Neo was a race of beings known as Animiace or “Animas”, as a better name he'd say. Composed of pure flames, many held a slender humanoid figures with 3 claw-like digits going along their limbs. They were simply a race of spirits, all living amongst one another and trying to survive against creatures that could wear away their very being. When an Animi passes on, nothing remains except the very last flickers of their body. No afterlife awaits the dead. They dedicate every day to making the most out of the time they have. Whether it be helping out their communities or choosing to fight against what threatens them all, they must find some meaning to their life. But for Neo, his life was chosen from the early stages. A talented swordsman and a compassionate heart - to a fault - Neo was dubbed “The Chosen One”, which he found rather ridiculous at the time. But it couldn't be mistaken he was a top class hunter of the Exholors - the beasts that seek to consume their very bodies. He had very few friends in his line of work, but each one made an impact on his life. Including a flame that caught his heart by the name of Myra, but it was not to last as while journeying the world together, the two stumbled upon a powerful Exho that slumbered in a foggy crater. There was little they could do to prepare for the worst as when it musters enough strength, it'll go on a rampage. And sadly, even with their best efforts, the world would be enshrouded by a draining fog, blanketing it in all consuming darkness. Armed with nothing but a sword, the wills of those passed on, and his own hatred for the beast, Neo held one final stand against the beast named “Exhaurire” and fought hard against it. It was a long, hard battle, but he managed to fell it…or so it would seem. It was barely breathing, but Neo was barely clinging on to life with the fog trying to eat away at his body. Seeing no other option, he chose to seal the essence and spirit of the beast within himself, corrupting his being, but knowing it would be better off this way than to have it terrorize another world. With the darkness consuming him, he bid farewell to this world and to this life…
But life has a funny way of giving people second chances. While he drifts across the cosmos, Neo's flickering soul would be found by a galactic cat-like being named “Elmicia”. They held a striking resemblance to a Mew, however. Regardless of that fact, they saw what he did for his world and offered his waning spirit a chance at a new life, one where he could make a land as he saw fit. A chance to perhaps bring back those who were lost. He found it baffling anyone would offer him this, but the being stated this is a one-time proposal. Otherwise, he would be left to drift once more until his spirit gives out. Feeling as if he didn't fulfill his life, Neo chose to give this role as an overseer of a land a shot. Only it wouldn't be simply him overseeing it…but creating it in his own way. In a world already established, he'd be given his own continent to make life anew - with restrictions, of course. He was given knowledge of the world and its inhabitants along with a new body. One marked with white stripes and cyan blanketed his body, Neo would be reborn in this world as almost a new being altogether: Azura.
Since then, hundreds of years would pass as Azura would become an integral part of the land he made - and he got very creative with it. He'd make it a titan, one capable of roaming the waters of the world with ease. A Torterra seemed fitting as it could carry its own world on its back. He'd give it a soul, but said soul would later go dormant for reasons that'll remain unexplained for now. And the denizens that would live upon it were more or less of his own creations, likely having some heavenly and demonic influences in mind. And maybe a few ‘Mons he made were…for lack of a better term, “softer” than most. He certainly had a hell of a time making his world, almost forgetting the one that was destroyed long ago.
But nearly 40 years ago now, Azura would begin to realize something was…off about himself. Thoughts of wanting his own creations - their very souls - drained and merge with his own. Or what of the rest of the world? He felt like his being was still hollow…but that didn't sound like him whatsoever. Having these great powers, he took a look inside his very soul to find the beast he'd seal away had grown a consciousness of its own and tried seizing control of him. It would be a repeat disaster if he allowed this to happen, so using his psychic powers, he separated himself from Exhaurire and drained him of a majority of his powers. He left the beast weakened, thinking now they won't be an issue going forward, but he knew little of what was to come in the future for doing this.
Jumping forward in time, Azura would come to meet and go on a little journey with 3 special ‘Mons that lived their life between his world and Inferno below it all: Mary, Wiles, and Valary. Mary - an anthro Dusk Lycanroc - was searching for a place to call home and Azura figured he could help her, but the addition of aiding a runaway couple such as Wiles and Valary proved to be quite a load to handle. Nevertheless, the overly helpful Mew would see to it they had their wishes fulfilled.
Azura remained in the shadows after aiding these 3, especially getting Mary settled in at a house above the mountains of the nearby forest of Nasurah. But she had one last wish to have despite it being a long shot: A child to raise. That…was a tall order even for him. It had been so long that he ever made another being that he nearly forgotten how without making them come out a mess. Some time was needed, but he remembered this one friend he knew under the name “Gemuline” that could aid him. She held a soul from another world that had yet to be reborn or pass on to the afterlife, so after a little chat, it was decided this soul would be reborn as a little Rockruff named Justin. Azura felt delighted he could bring Mary a little kid into her life, but felt like he was forgetting something important. He didn't know what it was, but figured everything would be okay.
Several years later, Azura found himself in a very nasty spot that left Mary gone missing, the little kiddo that is Justin wounded, and Azura…fatally wounded. The Mew managed to save the Rockruff, but at the cost of his own hubris catching up to him. There was one idea Azura had, but it would be a rather risky one. One that would change the life of the Rockruff forever moving forward. Barely managing to find Gemuline in his condition, he made a proposal to her: To keep an eye over Justin in this world as he takes up the mantle of this world's Mew. Gem was outraged by his brash decision instead of being healed up, but the flame marked Mew didn't wish to cause any more problems of his own. He simply wanted to…rest from it all. Miffed by his conclusion, she'd begrudgingly agree after seeing he was fading fast. And so, his very body became a soul that would be merged with the unconscious body of the Rockruff, giving him the signature color shifting left arm marking many would come to know today. Azura could finally let himself rest, going dormant within Justin for many years to come. Nothing more to worry about, he thought…
…Yet a certain hollowed being wasn't done with him. He later reawakened to find his soul laid against the ground, overseeing a city in dark flames and the now fully grown Lycanroc reaching out to him. He must've been asleep for nearly 15 or so years to see the once chubby little pup grown up to a still chubby wolf. And the thing that took him off guard the most was a Hisuian Zoroark - or Hysteriark, as this land refers to them as - approach them. The vibes, the bellowing smokey aura around their body…there was no mistaken it. It was Exhaurire, puppeteering a pair of other souls in that ghostly body. He never thought he'd see that weakened being again, seeing as he drained so much of his powers, but there was no time to act. He flung his spirit back within the Roc, granting him his powers once to have a fighting chance. And yet, even with Azura's powers, Justin still struggled to beat them. It was only by crystalizing shot by a ghost named Stella that would seal away Exhaurire once more, hopefully for good…or long enough to figure a way out to kill them for good.
Time marched on as Azura kept to himself within Justin, barely bothering the Roc in his life and sorting out a way to beat Exha - who eventually broke free and now roams the land as a vigilante of sorts. A twisted seeker of “justice”, as Azzy puts it. But in this time, he suddenly finds Justin in the fiery landscape of their soul, emotionally broken and beaten, now looking like a Hysteriark himself. He finds out that Justin had been going through an awful lot in his life, having these dark thoughts creep into his mind and struggling to keep himself going. He didn't value himself as much as the people who cared deeply for him, his own mind being twisted by events Azura didn't see. And in spite of it all, Azura gave him a few choice words followed by a looooong talk about how he needs to chin up and be more proactive in his life: “Don't let whatever others chose you for define the life you walk. Do whatever your heart desires and…don't let what I chose for you be who you are.” Uplifted by Azura's chat, Justin would get back up to face what lied ahead of himself, but now knowing more who Azura was and even knowing how deep his connections go in this world, Justin wanted to do him proud. And so, Justin adopted his name and tries his best to be called Azura going forward, keeping this Mew's legacy alive.
Since then, Azura has been keeping an ear out for anything else that might’ve been going on in the boy’s life, even gleaning through his memories to further understand the life he made during Azura’s time spent sleeping. Considering where things lie, he eventually began opening himself up more to Justin, telling him little bits and pieces of the world he created, but ultimately knew little of what the world beyond the continent held outside of what Elmicia taught him. But one thing he did know was how much of a high-priority target Justin would become for adopting his alias as the one who made this land, a being who could do practically anything, but how Justin is still untrained in his powers as a Mew let alone still trying to make use of the Hysteriark half he blended into his body. Speaking of, while the two share the same body, Azura ultimately allowed Justin to keep the Mew body in the event his soul ever became separated again like what happened with Exha resurfacing during his slumber. He noticed the Mew held traces of two other particular ‘Mons Justin came to know in his time and started to get an idea…
After events that will go unspoken for the time being, Azura would come to have a form of his own within the body they shared, one that felt similar to his old body in the past. It was only after the two met Nasurah’s mayor that inspired Azura to take on a form akin to their own. Kuya, a Reshiram, saw a lot of potential within both Justin and the spirit, wanting to mentor them after discovering that Azura truly wasn’t gone. Through rigorous training, Azura would come to regain his combat prowess and learn some new means of mobility in the this form he’d taken. Like what Justin did with his Mew body before, Azura merged both underutilized Delphox and Reshiram forms he gained in the past into one form. An almost regal, heavenly look presented itself when Azura completed the fusion, but he felt rather rough still. Considering he is still sharing a single body with someone, that meant a few issues were made like Justin not sleeping a lot or had a bit of weight packed onto him, but nothing like compression spells or even burning the weight off wouldn’t fix to keep this form limber. The look Azura takes now in this form is a union of the two after all the strife and hardships they faced. While he faced it throughout hundreds of years, he can’t underestimate how much one can go through with a limited lifespan. From hereon, the two were in it to see what they can make out of this life and what they can do to make the world better in their own little ways. But he mustn’t forget one thing that’s still out there, likely to cause more chaos: Exhaurire…or now taking up the name of “Eiko”, the person the Hysteriark is tied to. Only time will tell if Azura can finally put down what he failed to do so long ago or if something else will come along to change things. Only time will tell…

Oh yeah, I've been sorta hinting about that whenever I get the chance to mention anything about the world at large. I've taken a page more out of Xenoblade Chronicles for having a titan and Torterra was the most befitting, but when you mention it, it does lean into that creation myth a lot more. I just picked Torterra as it was the easiest to make a land mass out of. I'm not sure what other 'Mon I could've picked to become a titan.
Also, Azzy has had a rough existence, but it's becoming more meaningful around Justin as time has gone on.
