Generally Wolf newborns will stick closely to their parents, and do as they do. If Papa Luca isn't hunting these creatures around them, then better stay hidden. Who knows, they could be dangerous.

Baby Pulce does have the hunter's instinct, but since for him it is a natural part of him since birth, he doesn't get as overwhelmed by it as someone who was turned Wolf later in life.
