*DING* *DING* DING*! As the Chieftain sounded the bells on Wyona’s Hand, the air suddenly grew heavy with tension, noise, and uncertainty. Each sway the bells made back and forth, a sense of impending dread was unmistakable. The ringing continued to echo out throughout the ship’s many cabins and compartments and into the sea air. The four comrades gazed up at the moon, which was quickly being hidden behind dark blue and purple storm clouds. The booms of thunder and cracks of lightning began to swell up in the sky like some sort of alchemic concoction of chaos. And then, just as expected, something seemed to be disturbing the ocean waves. The sea went from its serene, drowsy temperament to an aggressive, dangerous one. It was then that they saw it. Peeking its head out from below the surface, the serpent had found its next target. After it had surveyed the ship and its occupants, the Cobalt Serpent rose out of the sea, shooting high into the sky. A disturbing creature it was, covered in winglets, fins, and tendrils protruding all across its glassy, scaly blue body. Zenchi, Ithaca, Roseland, and Xander refused to back down in the face of such adversity, their eyes glowing with their signature Magic auras. Their intense stares were only matched by the Cobalt Serpent’s. Its piercing red, demonic eyes were enough to send shivers down one’s spine. This was it, the Outriders’ long-standing archnemesis, their fears made manifest. But at the same time, it was once a dear friend. Alas, those times had long since passed, little more than blurred memories at this point. The serpent had ruled over the seas for far too long, and the time for reclamation was long overdue.
