It's Spooky Month! Last year I did a bunch of classic horror story characters as pokemon: Count Dracula, Victor Frankenstein, Jekyll and Hyde, etc...

I decided I wanted to do something like that again this year but with a little twist. First of all, instead of horror I decided to go a different direction capturing another side of Halloween: Fun (with some scariness mixed in)
This year the theme is Fairytales.

I had an idea I wanted to explore:
These pokemon are NOT meant to be taken as the characters from their respective fairy tales, these are kids who are wearing costumes that allow them to embody the story for which they are dressed as and gain abilities associated with their character/story, so a character might not just be the character who they resemble but a culmination of the entire story, and stories can be very powerful!

Ammity doesn't typically like to dress up or look pretty anymore. She used to all the time when she was younger and people thought she was cute as a totodile, but ever since evolving other pokemon think she's scary and mean looking. After being told she's scary enough times, she started leaned into others preconceptions to look tougher than she really is and make others leave her alone, but now she is also very lonely. Friends she used to be close with don't want to be associated with her because of her apparent change into a beast.

She embodies the spirit of the story: "Beauty and the Beast" but also she's a Beauty who IS the Beast which also makes her kinda like Princess Fiona which makes it more fitting that she's a Crocognaw since crocodiles live in the Swamp!
She also gets her name from the Crocodile headed Egyptian monster Ammit of the underworld who devours the dead that are not welcomed into paradise for their sins in life.
