Saphia is old. How old? Well she was one of the wives of the first sultans, though she can't honestly remember which one by this time. She appeared in the family tomb and decided to never leave the palace. She has very high expectations of how the country should be run and thinks the recent sultans have lost a considerable amount of backbone.

That being said, she is not entirely unpleasant to be around as long as you can meet her expectations. Yul would gladly offer her a more loftier position, but to his surprise she actually demands the harem. She was in the harem since his great great grandfather ruled, but Yul is unsettled by her performances. She could have been his ancestor
