However, the government seizes the B.R.A.I.N. and turns it into the Fabrication Machine, an armature that can construct an army of war machines. The machines become corrupted and declare war on the humans. As a last resort, the scientist uses alchemy to create nine homunculus-like rag dolls called "Stitchpunks", each labeled with a number, giving them portions of his own soul via a talisman. He dies upon completing the final Stitchpunk doll: 9. 9 awakens sometime after the machines have destroyed all organic life on Earth and gone dormant, the renamed is planet "Earth-That-Was". He ventures outside and meets 2, an elderly inventor Stitchpunk who gives him a working voice box. The last active machine, the Cat-Beast, attacks the pair, abducts 2, and takes the talisman. One-eyed healer 5 rescues 9 and takes him to Sanctuary, the tower of an empty cathedral that is home to other Stitchpunks; the dogmatic leader 1, his large bodyguard 8, and the eccentric clairvoyant 6. Against 1's wishes, 9 and 5 follow the Cat-Beast to a factory and rescue 2. The Cat-Beast attacks the trio, but they are saved by 7, the only female of the Stitchpunks. 9 curiously connects the talisman to the dormant Fabrication Machine, accidentally reviving it; it kills 2 by sucking out his soul, and the other Stitchpunks only barely manage to escape. 7 takes 9 and 5 to an abandoned library, where mute scholar twins 3 and 4 reveal the history of the Human-Machine war. 9 draws the symbols on the talisman, and 5 realizes the symbols match the drawings 6 is always making. 9 and 5 return to Sanctuary to investigate, but 1 reprimands them for disobeying and putting them all at risk. The Fabrication Machine begins assembling new robots; one of them, the bird-like Winged Beast, attacks the Sanctuary and burns it down. With 7's help, the Stitchpunks manage to destroy the Winged Beast and escape. Back at the library, 6, 3, and 4 search for information on the talisman. 1 says such curiosity is dangerous, and reveals that he allowed 2 to go out to his death because he feared 2's curiosity would eventually get them all killed. Meanwhile, the Fabrication Machine uses 2's corpse as a hypnotic lure for its new "Seamstress" robot, which attacks the library and captures 7 and 8. The other Stitchpunks return to the factory to save them, but 8's soul is absorbed by the machine. 9 goes in alone, saves 7, and destroys the Seamstress. He and 7 escape as the other Stitchpunks blow up the factory, destroying nearly all of the machines. The Fabrication Machine, badly damaged but still functional, emerges from the factory's ruins and absorbs 5's soul. 6 realizes that the deceased Stitchpunks' souls are still trapped inside the Machine and begs the others not to destroy it. The Machine manages to capture 6; just before it sucks out 6's soul, he orders 9 to go to the Scientist's workshop for answers. At the workshop, 9 finds a holographic recorded message from the Scientist, explaining both the Machine's and the Stitchpunks' origins, and how to use the talisman. Now knowing that the talisman can be used to transfer souls, 9 reunites with the surviving Stitchpunks. He plans to sacrifice himself to the Machine, distracting it long enough for the others to retrieve the talisman. 1 redeems himself by pushing 9 out of the way, allowing the Machine to suck out his soul instead of 9's. 9 removes the talisman and sucks the captive Stitchpunks' souls out of the Machine, destroying it. Afterward, 9 uses the talisman to release the souls of 5, 2, 8, 6 and 1. As the freed souls fly up into the sky, it starts to rain. The raindrops contain tiny flecks of bacteria, bringing organic life back into the world and return to the M-class planet. Also the heroes of Universe 10, The Burning Paladins, The Terigons, The Freelancers, and his crossover heroes leaves a Earth-That-Was.
However, the Heroes of Universe 6 and Universe 7 heroes comes arrives, Fire elements Bernie and Cinder Lumen immigrate from Fire Land to Element City where they face racism from other classical elements. After the birth of their daughter Ember, they set up their Blue Flame which represents their traditions and start their own convenience store called the Fireplace. Several years later, Bernie intends to retire and give Ember the store once she can control her fiery temper. One day, when Bernie allows Ember to run the shop on her own, she becomes overwhelmed by the customers and rushes to the basement. Her fiery outburst breaks a water pipe, flooding the basement and summoning Wade Ripple, a water element and city inspector, who notes the faulty plumbing. Despite Ember's attempts to stop him, Wade travels to City Hall and reluctantly files a report of his findings with his air element employer, Gale Cumulus, who will have the Fireplace shut down. Ember keeps this a secret from her parents, and does not tell them that she is the reason why the pipe burst. Wade brings Ember to Cyclone Stadium to persuade Gale to reconsider the shutdown of her father's store. Wade mentions to Ember that he was searching for a leak in the city's canals before ending up at the Fireplace, and suggests to Gale that he and Ember can track the source of the leak from the store. Gale offers to forgive the violations as long as they find and seal the leak by the end of the week. While searching the canals, Ember and Wade discover a hole in a dam that allows wave runoff from ships to flood the city's plumbing, so they close the hole with sandbags. The two spend time together in the city and learn more about each other. Meanwhile, Cinder suspects that Ember is seeing someone. The sandbags eventually fail, so Ember melts the sand into glass to form a sturdier seal. Ember visits Wade's family at a luxury apartment, where she uses her fire to fix a broken glass pitcher, impressing Wade's mother Brook, who recommends her for a glass-making internship. While playing "the Crying Game", Wade makes Ember cry by admitting he has feelings for her. Gale calls Wade and approves Ember's glass seal, thus saving the Fireplace from closure. Ember then realizes that she does not want to take over the store. Bernie announces to Ember and Cinder his intention to retire and hand the Fireplace to Ember. The next evening, Wade takes Ember to Garden Central Station to see Vivisteria flowers, a species that can thrive in any environment, which she and Bernie were denied seeing in her childhood. With the station now flooded, Gale provides Ember with an air bubble for safety while Wade pushes her underwater through the station. Afterward, Ember and Wade realize that they are able to touch without harming each other and share a dance, but Ember remembers her duty to the Fireplace and her family's prejudice against water elements, and breaks up with Wade. While Ember is about to take over the Fireplace during a party, Wade appears and declares his love for her, while also accidentally revealing that she caused the broken pipe. Ember rejects Wade, though Cinder senses genuine love. Angry and disappointed, Bernie refuses to give Ember the store and calls off his retirement. Soon after, the new seal on the dam breaks and the Fire district floods. After saving the Blue Flame, Ember and Wade become trapped in a room in the Fireplace, causing Wade to evaporate from the enclosed heat. After the flood recedes, a grief-stricken Ember confesses to Bernie that she does not want to run the Fireplace and expresses her love for Wade. Realizing that Wade has condensed within the stone ceiling, Ember plays the Crying Game to get him to cry and drip back into his normal form. Ember and Wade embrace and share their first kiss. Months later, Bernie has retired and the Fireplace is now run by friends of his. Ember and Wade, now a couple, leave Element City so that Ember can start her glass-making internship, also the Heroes of Universe 6 and Universe 7 heroes are leaving a Element World.

Notes
It is possible that this universe doesn't have the Saiyan race, as even Zamasu, a Supreme Kai apprentice, is unfamiliar with the term.
The term "humans" in this universe seems to be something different and wider than the Universe 7's Earthlings. According to Gowasu, the duty of a Supreme Kai is to observe and protect the humans, and Zamasu still uses the term "human" for Goku even after knowning that he is a Saiyan. It is possible that "humans" in Universe 10 either means the general mortals, or the humans are the main habitants of this Universe.
Trivia
In the anime, this is the first universe that Goku visited other than his own.
In the anime, Universe 10 is the second place which was visited by Goku to be erased, the first being Future Trunks' timeline.
The symbol of this universe appears to be six pack abdominals upside down, a reference to the type of muscular warriors this universe holds.
