Dragon Snapper, Colored.
Name: Dragon Snapper
Class: Plant
Demeanor: Highly Aggressive
---
The Dragon Snapper is a class of predatory carnivorous flora that thrive in lush forested areas. Even as a stationary plant, this creature is extremely dangerous and should be avoided if possible.
-The individual heads of a snapper work as a team to capture prey. As they are all connected at its base, any food that a head is able to devour will nourish the entire plant.
-Different species of snappers adapt to their surroundings to better capture prey. Some snappers have adapted camouflage techniques to trick prey into coming within strike range, while others lure prey in by using vines to mimic the movements of bugs and worms.
-Snappers excrete a highly viscous, sticky sap from their mouths that can cause a number of negative effects on contact, such as paralysis, extreme pain and irritation, and poison. To slow down fast moving prey such as rodents and birds, a snapper plant may "drool" this liquid onto the ground or on branches in its vicinity. Once a victim has come into contact with the sap, it is quickly rendered helpless within a few moments, allowing the plant to consume it.
-Snappers cannot see nor hear, but have a highly developed sense of smell through receptors on the front of its flowering buds that resemble nostrils. A snapper can smell prey from quite a distance away, and will relax its body in anticipation of striking out in surprise once the prey comes close enough.
-The sap of snappers are not as potent on larger targets such as humans and large animals, but given enough time, these creatures can succumb to the paralyzing effects of the liquid and will be devoured if they are within distance of the plant. However, the stylized petals that form rows of fang-like teeth are extremely sharp, and a snapper has very lethal biting strength.
-Oddly enough, while the flowering buds are extremely dangerous, its stem and leaf parts are edible, and, if properly processed, it's venomous sap can be used to make a number of antidotes for ailments such as muscle tension and backaches.
-Snappers procreate by the use of spores. As they cannot rely on other beasts to transmit its spore, it has a highly developed flowering head that will violently explode, allowing the wind to carry spores to remote locations, that will germinate. Small flowering snappers will start off with one flowering head that feeds on insects and very small rodents and as it gets larger, more heads will grow.
