After repeated failed attempts to keep a live xenomorph, scientists at Weyland-yutani have engineered biosynthetic xenomorphs-- similar to their human synth counterparts, these xenomorphs have their own complex AI and can understand / form human speech. Alongside this, they emit special pheromones that can help infiltrate live xenomorph hives.
