It's Spooky Month! Last year I did a bunch of classic horror story characters as pokemon: Count Dracula, Victor Frankenstein, Jekyll and Hyde, etc...

I decided I wanted to do something like that again this year but with a little twist. First of all, instead of horror I decided to go a different direction capturing another side of Halloween: Fun (with some scariness mixed in)
This year the theme is Fairytales.

I had an idea I wanted to explore:
These pokemon are NOT meant to be taken as the characters from their respective fairy tales, these are kids who are wearing costumes that allow them to embody the story for which they are dressed as and gain abilities associated with their character/story, so a character might not just be the character who they resemble but a culmination of the entire story, and stories can be very powerful!

Gale is a bit of a bookworm who gets teased for being a nerd and the color of her fur. She evolved into an Espeon because of friendship but then after evolving the friends who caused her to evolve started to drift away from her leaving her lonely and drawn inwards on herself to become more antisocial and closed off from people.

She has come to become the embodiment of two opposed characters from the same story: Dorothy Gale the Heroine of Oz and Ephaba the Wicked Witch of the West.
Dorothy makes friends who help her through her adventure trying to return home, but it's not the wizard who gets her there, as the Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz turns out to be a fraud who uses showmanship to deceive the people.

In Wicked, the future Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba was ostracized by the People of OZ since birth because of her green skin, but she has prestigious skill in magic leading her to want to work with the Wizard and earn people's admiration, but Elphaba also discovers the Wizard is a Fraud and becomes his nemesis. She tries very hard to do good but things keep going wrong for her and eventually she breaks down believing that if she can't do anything right and everyone think's she's evil anyway, then she might as well embrace being the Wicked Witch everyone thinks she is.

Maybe in Gale, the friendship of Dorothy and the Cleverness of Elphaba can help each other and help Gale learn that she is strong and she can reach out to others.
