It's Spooky Month! Last year I did a bunch of classic horror story characters as pokemon: Count Dracula, Victor Frankenstein, Jekyll and Hyde, etc...
I decided I wanted to do something like that again this year but with a little twist. First of all, instead of horror I decided to go a different direction capturing another side of Halloween: Fun (with some scariness mixed in)
This year the theme is Fairytales.
I had an idea I wanted to explore:
These pokemon are NOT meant to be taken as the characters from their respective fairy tales, these are kids who are wearing costumes that allow them to embody the story for which they are dressed as and gain abilities associated with their character/story, so a character might not just be the character who they resemble but a culmination of the entire story, and stories can be very powerful!
I actually combined 2 stories in one for this character. You are probably familiar with the story of The Frog Prince: a Prince who is turned into a Frog, and is turned back when kissed by a Princess. But he's also embodying The Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant, who is ALSO a Prince who becomes a heroic Ninja with FROG Powers!
Jiraiya is the alias of a Prince on the run after his father was killed by an evil usurper Snake Demon called Orochimaru. While on the run he meets a magical Toad sage who trains Jiraiya in Ninjustu and Toad Magic in order to help him defeat Orochimaru, but also he's a sort of Robinhood style noble thief who steals from those who exploit off the weak and innocent and gives back to to the poor and impoverished.
Typhoon was the heir to a rich crime family, practically a prince in all but name, he used to be an arrogant brat who believed he could get away with anything so long as he had his father to dote on him. Then his father was betrayed and killed, and his gang was taken over by another rival gang. Typhoon would have been on the chopping block to tie up loose ends but he managed to escape and was forced from riches and luxury to poverty and having to take care of himself. He grew bitter and got involved in petty street level crime, until two stories offered him an out: The Frog Prince and The Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant. Their conditions were that in order to embody their characters, he would have to find somebody who loves him purely, and selflessly help the misfortunate, otherwise he will lose his powers.
Not knowing much about romance he has become a bit of a flirt trying to woo anybody who catches his interest in hopes of finding anybody to love him.
