There are some quirky odd places in the UK, this one near where I live. A calm little fishing pond, somehow surviving wedged in the middle of a large industrial area, with a lone wind turbine at the end. Have seen people fishing here, though I might be a bit dubious about the catch!

I don't like these windmills because a huge one was built in our local forest and I feel it ruins the serenity and calm of the place. The windmill is loud and creates a large shadow and a lot of trees were felled for it. I'm sorry, I shouldn't be rambling. I'm not against renewable energies, I just feel the placement in our forest was unfortunate and it leaves me biased.
The little pond in your photo looks lovely though. That's a nice spot to sit and pass the time.

That's unfortunate, weird to plonk one down in a forest, too. I usually like these windmills, they are interesting landmarks, quite characteristic out in the open, though in the UK where nearly everything is sheep (or cow) pasture, it doesn't matter all that much where they are. The noise - do they generate any? Never really heard, too many cars everywhere around here! :p
