Racheal stood nervously, looking down at her uniform. She had just gotten it from an online shop her friend had recommended — and even helped pick out. Now, though, she was feeling hesitant. Her shirt and jeans were nice and well-fitting — actually, not feeling like they’re about to rip was a plus for her — but the jacket just felt off.

Her phone buzzed, and she slipped in her earpiece with a frown.

“Hey Jessica, just tried on the uniform. You sure the jacket works?” she asked, tugging at her shirt a bit.

Jessica chuckled on the other end. “Of course, girl! Have I ever steered you wrong? I mean, who was it that got you looking good for the company’s annual New Year’s party?” she said as the Purugly sat down to put on her makeup.

“True. Still didn’t stop Zia from finding a way to tease my outfit. And that was even before I evolved…” Racheal sighed.

Jessica rolled her eyes and smiled. “Just ignore her. You’re going for neat and tidy, not trying to look like a knockout. That’s you! If Zia hates it, then it’s a good fit! Anyway, see you at work! Oh! I actually found some new ramen flavors for ya — I know you love them.”

Racheal could almost feel her mouth water. While she could attend fancy parties with her partners and was something of a ramen connoisseur, she still loved trying new flavors and even mixing and matching. Jessica, of course, loved teasing her about the obsession.

Just as the call was about to end, a sudden whoosh sounded as the connection glitched.

“Oh, forgot my phone! Don’t forget yours when you come to work! I’ll be right there!” Jessica blurted before hanging up and rushing out the door.

Looked like the workday was starting off well.
