Born as the youngest in a large working class Druman family, Merri knew from youth that she would aspire to seek her fortune and prosperity in battle as a member of the Mercenary League (also known as the Blackjackets), protecting the vast trade empire of her homeland on behalf of their enigmatic Prophets of Kalistrade.

Though she's only served in the League for a few years, Merri’s sharp mind for battlefield tactics and coolness under fire have earned the rookie a place in the elite Crimson Hounds unit, specializing in hunting down undead and the evil cultists of the Whispering Way. Despite her martial career, Merri fancies herself something of an amateur sleuth and tries to track down the owners of lost keepsakes found on the battlefield; she also has a keen appreciation for fine clothes and her family's trade of jewelry-making, which she practices in her off-time.

Merri Cassano is a very old character of mine who never had proper art for over a decade; I first played her during certain arcs in a Rogue Trader tabletop campaign from 2011-2013. I’ve thought of bringing Merri back occasionally, but last year I had a clear idea for her after playing her as an NPC bodyguard in a short Pathfinder adventure I ran, so she finally got art all to herself!
