The Madrigal of the Otter and the Ferret (anniversary gift!)

September 17th 2016, after over 12 years together in nearly perpetual engagement, my husband Ferdinand Ferret and I (his out-of-date FA is Mustel) officially and legally married.
This makes it our wedding anniversary at time of posting.
I set to work making this tribute art to the two of us the week before today.
I, Owen Otter, am carrying the sword and shield of Erdrick, from the first 3 of the Dragon Quest games.
My husband, Ferdinand Ferret, is carrying the Venus Gospel lance and the gloves, goggles, and scarf of Cid Highwind of Final Fantasy VII, as the cranky old engineer was one of his favorite characters in that game.
The speech bubbles are the final lyrics of the song Madrigal, by Rush.
I wove them into my wedding vows that day.
I chose these words from that track in the fifth track of Farewell To Kings, as they convey how a struggling young man five years his junior could find love and trust in the man who would become my husband, through whom I have grown immesurably since moving out of my parent's home to live in that which is now ours.
"...in vain to search for honor,
and in vain to search for truth,
but these things can still be given.
Your love has shown me proof."
