She then told me to take out my stone. Doing so, she told me to feel its power, focus on it. Feel it as separate from my own. It took a second, but I managed to. She then told me to draw its power, not to weaponize but to bring it into myself. Slowly and carefully, I pulled the energy in, watching as the stone began to crumble in my hands until it dissipated into dust.
'Congratulations, you just learned how to absorb energy'
She said as she then turned to leave. Reminding me of our deal. She wanted an audience with the rogue wielders if I find them. Then in a familiar black smoke, she faded from sight and was gone.
I returned to Lily's side. Waiting and praying for her to wake up. But as the minutes turned into hours, I knew if she did, it wasn't going to be anytime soon.
She wouldn't want me to sit around with all these people in desperate need. So I took off my gear, downed some water, and helped with the wounded as much as I could.
