Now this should be the last pair of images for now, and this should hopefully be an interesting one. This species i do have a name for and they are called the Seyamoora. Styff is again mostly finished up with their writing but stuff still needs some editing, but i can share their biology stuff
Biology
The Seyamoora are an Estav’aluk’cathcu made species of humanoids with traits associated with mammals, reptiles and plants native to a planet in local space within SSA/IOA territory. They stand at 7ft tall and are covered in fern-like integument across their body which form a skirt like covering as well as a decorative collar, and while it appears they have white fur they are covered in a plant-like insulatory fur sitting atop their scales and alongside the fern-like growths assists in photosynthesis. The ferns and “fur” take on different colors at different stages of their lives, with their apparent fur being green during childhood and shortly after becoming an adult the “fur” becomes white while the ferns appearing post metamorphosis take on a green color before transitioning towards a lavender color. Despite their reptilian and plant nature the Seyamoora are warm blooded, aiding in their ability to stay warm on their frozen homeworld.
The Seyamoora are an all female species. To reproduce the Seyamoora tail mouth with a 4th vine-like appendage links up with their counterpart on another individual to transfer gametes which leads to the production of a coconut-like seed egg.
The Seyamoora have multiple life stages which begin as a coconut like seed which grows into a small sago palm like bush sticking out of the top of the seed which itself roots into the dirt for stability and to pull resources to nourish its insides. After several weeks in this stage the palm bush cracks open, revealing several developed quadrupedal offspring, having functioned somewhat like a temporary external womb. As they grow their “fur” covers up a large portion of their bodies but lacking the ferns end up resembling walking bushes. In this stage the Seyamoora’s mouth on their head is filled with fangs that help to administer a venom in their saliva, and the mouth in their head is primarily used to process and consume food. Unlike adults however they lack the head crest, instead having a “fur” patch instead in its place and their tail is nothing more than a small stump, hidden by fluff. Over their journey to adulthood they start adopting more of their adult features with the tail slowly lengthening and adopting an increasingly more vertical posture while shedding the “fur” patch atop their head and growing in their crests. When the tail mouth’s teeth start growing in to be able to process food the teeth in the mouth on their head start quickly falling out and being replaced with little nubs while their oesophagus contracts down and loses the majority of its flexibility, forcing them to take on the adult condition of feeding themselves primarily through their second mouth on their tail. Eventually their body takes on its full humanoid posture as the fern-like growths develop on their body and back of the head before the green fades on their body to white and lavender.
An adult Seyamoora’s tail is functionally a third arm with its 3 non-reproductive vine like “tongues” able to be used as manipulators while food processing is partially carried out by a set of pharyngeal jaws inside of its mouth, which combined with the 3 tongues technically allows “hands free eating.” Retracted inside of the mouth are additionally a pair of venomous spikes which can be used as an impaling defence mechanism or as a way of killing prey animals for consumption, making for a form of oversized two pronged fork like eating utensil.
