MALAKAS Project - Madame Camilla Butterfly

Description:
Oswald Octopus, Henry Juneau Penguin, and Madame Camilla Butterfly all hailed from the very populous town of Hempstead, just east of New York City via Queens Borough. They all seemed to have an ordinary and peaceful life, right until August 12th of 2023, the day when the entire Long Island was struck by a huge earthquake, which quickly and enormously destroyed every settlement there, much less so on Brooklyn and Queens Boroughs (under New York City). While it seemed easy for the mainstream news to speculate the Double Dougs (the Cascadia-based terror group) being responsible for such a destruction, given the magnitude similar to the one that struck Adventure Bay, the said radical group was quick to deny the claim, arguing that they were too busy liberating the so-called Cascadia (the US-Canadian region on the western coast), and that they had no better incentives in attacking cities too distant from their concerned region. Regardless, investigations were immediately deployed to study the affected island.
Oswald and his pet dachshund Weenie, Henry, and Madame and her 17-year old daughter Catrina were among hundreds who managed to survive the devastating earthquake, but they had nowhere else to live around New York, as the Empire State itself had fallen into a serious economic crisis, though not as much as the Great Depression. Not even New York City was willing to take in refugees from the Long Island. as it immediately got itself a bigger problem with anxious survivors from its two damaged boroughs over its own supplies. Despite that, Oswald and his friends turned to their dragon friend Pongo Sweetheart who agreed to give them sanctuary in his apartment in Bronx, though he expressed fear that his neighbors had become incredibly tense, recently due to other refugees invading the unaffected boroughs across the city
Few days later, Pongo's apartment would eventually be invaded by his hostile neighbors, looking to lynch his friends he had been hoarding, only for this uneventful breach to be foiled by no other group than the PAW Patrol. Lead by Chase Alsatian and Skye Cockapoo, the PAW Patrol quickly barged to save every dweller there, including Pongo, Oswald and his friends, and brought them to the airport, because as it turned, many angry New Yorkers began burning down any building that was hoarding refugees across the city, which included the Flatiron Building, several rundown apartments, and inevitably Pongo's. Although heartbroken, they felt relieved for being brought to safety, not knowing they would end up in Santo Tomas, California on the next day.
For five months, Oswald and his dog Weenie, Henry, Madame and Catrina, and Pongo had been adapting well in their new homes in Santo Tomas. But by January 2024, their fate would gradually change once Oswald had crossed paths with the brown and muscular fox, named Timothy Soro.
Madame initially found a new job as a waiter in some diner near the quarries, but after realizing its horrible state, she and her daughter Catrina quickly made spring cleaning and renovations, turning that rundown diner back to its former glory, albeit in a rich 1980s fashion. The elderly owner couldn't help but feel grateful and turned over his old diner to her as its new owner. For few months, Catrina became a waiter, Henry was brought in as a cashier, few workers were hired as assistants, and Madame herself led as a cook and a manager of the so-called "Big Diner".
Despite having a sustainable job, Henry became so noticeably homesick that she encouraged him to leave for the night and attend a jazz club in the financial district, where he could watch Oswald performing as a singer or a pianist. This cheered the penguin up and began visiting Oswald in that jazz club every night. Few months later however, Henry reached and informed Madame of what happened to Oswald, who had just become big and muscular after joining the MALAKAS Project, and Henry wished to have few months off from work to pursue that benefit himself. Although Madame hesitated, especially having learned some shadiness behind the project, she found his excitement so genuine (pretty much unlike his old, usual self) that she decisively let him go for the time being.
However, her life was never problem-free either. Her daughter had long been secretly miserable, ever since she lost all of her high school classmates to the earthquake. Giving her a good job was enough to help her cope with such a loss, but Madame knew Catrina would eventually become a legal adult soon and choose her own path, and every night she began searching online for ways to rebuild her daughter's broken spirit. By the time Henry came out, predictably as a Super Soldier, he also quickly noticed Madame's problem with her daughter's future, and persuaded her to join the project for a while, and hopefully she could be able to have found a solution there by herself.
Madame partook in that project in three months, and somehow found solace in other struggling parents who also joined as Recruits, and thanks to a local therapy there, her once lost youth spirit became rejuvenated. She was eventually honorably discharged and was given a tearful hug from Catrina, who had been missing her so much.
