Tracer was still out like a light and didn’t know what had happened. All she remembered was that she got ambushed by Mauga and tried to fend him off, only to get hacked by Sombra and poisoned by Widowmaker. At first she thought it was all over. But for some strange reason, she was still alive. As she groaned, she opened her eyes and slowly blinked before regaining full consciousness. It was then that she realized that she wasn’t in the armored truck, nor Kings Row, but instead, some kind of vortex of blue energy. Not only that, she was floating within the vortex and was being pulled by an unknown force. Panicking, she flailed around and wondered where she was.
“What the bloody hell?! Where am I? And how did I get here?” she said in a freaky manner.
As she was trying to deduce what occurred, she felt a glowing light hovering from above. Looking up, she saw the blue gem that she was trying to retrieve from Talon. How did it get up there? Did it teleport her to someplace safe? Well, whatever the case, it was flinging into the same vortex she was in and it looked to be flying away from her.
“Oh no! The gem!” she said in shock, “I can’t lose it. Not now!”
And so, she uses her chronal accelerator to zip across the blue vortex, getting closer to the gem she was obtaining. Of course, what she didn’t know is that someone else is in the opposite vortex and they were going to converge into a connected path.
Rebecca didn’t know what happened to her. One minute, she was getting ready to kill some Night City pigs after retrieving the gem from the Scavvers in a warehouse owned by Arasaka. The next she would end up in a blue vortex, floating right through it. Waving aimlessly, she wasn’t…happy about it.
“What the literal fuck! Where the fuck am I?” she said in her pissed off state.
She soon tries to get contact with her squad. “David? Are you there? I’m in a whole lot of shit right now. Where am I?”
She waited for a response, but didn’t hear anything. So she tried again.
“Hello! Is there anyone there? Dimples? Kiwi? Lucy?”
Still nothing as her video call was static and the ‘Offline’ signal was blinking. Seeing that, she groaned and muttered, “That’s so Nova…”
The moment she said that, something blue was glowing overhead and she looked up to see the very gem she once held as it was soaring through the vortex. Looking at it, she soon got an angry look on her face and blurted out. “Stupid fucking hunk of rock! You the one that got me in this fucked up place. Get back here to get me out!”
With her huge arms, she swam through the vortex to the gem and escaped this strange hellscape. What she didn't know is that she was approaching the intersection where two tunnels converge and someone else was gunning for the gem on the other end.
Tracer was zipping through the vortex, trying to reach the gem as fast as possible. Zipping across the blue energy tunnel, she was just an arms reach to the gem. Getting her hand out, she used all of her strength to get a hold of it.
“Almost…” she started.
“...Got it.” Rebecca finished as she swam down the vortex with her huge metal arms and was reaching out for her gem.
The two gems reached the convergence as the two girls outreached their hands to touch it. The moment the two touched it.
Tracer: “Gotcha!”
Rebecca: “Not going to get away from me!”
But the moment they touched, the two gems converged into one and then their hands merged and started to glow. Their eyes grew wide as they responded in unison.
Tracer: “Bloody Hell!”
Rebecca: “Da Fuq!”
Before they could let go, their bodies started to get covered in two different lights. For Tracer, it was an orange light, for Rebecca, it was aqua green. As they were engulfed, both forms started to melt and simplify as their colors started to blend. Soon, they became one as it was a combined color of orange green with a form that had all their traits and strengths. The new form soon went through a new tunnel as they were reaching the light at the end of the tunnel. Soon enough, it went into the light and everything started to get bright and blinding.
Shortly after, a mysterious figure started to open her eyes and saw what appeared to be pink skies with clouds hovering overhead. But by the time the figure came, she felt a little heavy, as if metal was in her body.
“Argh… Fuckin’ ‘ell. What happened?” she said in a British punkish voice as she slowly got up from that weird experience. Looking around, she noticed that something wasn’t quite right. All around her, she was surrounded by walls of blue crystals that were high in the sky with the reflection of the sun’s light. The ground was made of green sand that glistened to the light.
Slowly standing up, she was a little woozy and said, “Argh… My head. It feels like someone bore a bloody drill in my brain.” the figure said. Slowly walking and adjusting to her weight, she leaned on the reflective wall and was taking a breather. That’s when she got a good look into the wall and saw herself for the first time.
Right in front of her, is a rebellious woman with tattoos on her chest and green hair with high pigtails and purple lipstick. She was dressed in a black jacket with the zipper down to reveal her Chronal Generator, a pair of white gauntlets with one red robotic hand and one blue robotic hand, long orange spandex running pants and a pair of white futuristic trainers. And over her cybernetic eyes is an orange visor that seems connected to her face.
Blinking, the woman stood back and was shocked at what she was. “Whoa! Is that…me? How…?” Suddenly, she started to get a migraine as her mind was combining memories of both worlds into one. Regaining her marbles, she remembered who she was.
Her name is Trabeccer and she is a member of Overwatch’s Edgerunner’s Division. Rebecca was a trouble maker in the streets of Night Row. As part of her parole, she volunteered at Arasaka’s science division to try out this Chronal Generator engine for the state of the art cars and wanted to test it out. Things went completely wrong and an accident happened where she faded away. She was quarantined as her body faded in and out in time and space. It was the help of Maine, a renowned scientist, that created the smaller version where it helps control her condition and gives her the ability to blink across one location to the next. With the proper training, she became part of the Edgerunner unit, a rag tag group of trouble makers that go on suicide missions that are impossible for a regular soldier. And one of the missions was that she was supposed to retrieve a gem of mysterious power from a terrorist group in Talon’s Claws. She remembered dealing with them and obtaining the gem, before…
That’s when it hit her. It was the gem that single handedly took her from her world and brought her to…wherever she was now.
“Argh! Funkin’ gem! It must’ve taken me here of all places. When I find it, I will demand it to get me back home!” she said in pure anger with a British accent.
Suddenly, she felt a shine coming from one of the reflected surfaces. One that has the familiar blue hue. Turning to the direction, she could see something shining and remembered what the color was. Curious, she ran down the glassy cliffs and was following the gleam. After all that running, she saw the light at the end of it and reached the end. That’s when she stopped and realized that she was in a desert of green with glassy cliffs scattered about. Looking at the view, she was surprised at how beautiful it looked. But she’s not interested in sights, only the light that she saw. Looking ahead, she noticed a huge temple at a distance, it’s far, but there’s something gleaming at the top of it. Looking on, Trabeccer knew what it was.
“There you are. Though I wish you were closer to me then that far. Bloody nova…”
With that, she opened up her white gauntlets and a pair of pulse shotguns came out and she held on to them tightly.
“Whatever… Let’s head to the temple and take that gem to get back home. And if anyone gets in the way, those buggers will be flatlined.”
With that, she jumped off the cliff and used her Chronal Generator to teleport down to the ground. Then she ran and used her blink ability to zip faster to get to the temple.
As she was zipping across the desert, the same mysterious figure was at the top of the glass cliff and observed a new form that was heading to the same temple as the previous one. “Hmmm…. This one is a bit more rebellious than the other. But she does have the combined traits of both a scout and a wild card. She could be a bit of a handful like that. Maybe once she is whole with the other, she can be easily reserved. Still… It doesn't seem like enough. It’s missing one more.”
As she said that, another light came down that was a reddish green as it landed on another part of the land in a different direction from the temple. Seeing that, she smirked and said, “Perfect timing. Must be the third form that completes it. Let’s see who it is and how capable this being is.”
Spreading her wings, she flew to the next location and saw who this bonded form was going to be. To her, this is going to be an interesting day.
Tracer and Rebecca were trapped in the mysterious vortex they teleported into and reached the gem to get back. But the moment they touched it, the two joined in the converged tunnel and both gems and them bonded into one. That will lead to a new form that can be a rebellious soldier.
