Xifendra is a Balknus woman of the Man'Ari race, serving as guardian and security at Maila's club. A former director of a meat processing plant and bodybuilder, she was fired before meeting Maila at a bar. She is a member of the Veltarion family—hereditary diplomats—but renounced her diplomatic career following her father's death during an embassy mission. She manages a mansion-museum on Nuraun (the native continent of the Balknus), which combines residential space, historical artifacts, and mysticism. She plays the guitar. While she supports peaceful Aquirians, she hates their empire for colonizing Nuraun and allying with humans in the destruction of magic. She values freedom and life but harbors bitterness from the betrayal of great powers.
