On December 20, 1997, the Boeing 767 crashed on Santa Monica Fwy, 204 died, with a 10-year-old girl being the only survivor.

An investigation went underway, and discovered the plane crashed due to a suicide bomber being onboard the aircraft.

The preparator was a former guerilla of the Guatemalan civil war.

They identified the suicide bomber as Paolo Chávez, who was tasked to eliminate the Guatemalan president's daughter.

This elimination failed when Anita Benavídez survived.
