Idk. I never had a problem with my iPod and that thing is 6 years old

Mine lasted eight years, but I never dropped it, scratched it or got it wet... and it just up and died, halfway through a song. :/ Hell it spent most of it's life in my car.

and there's your problem. the im sure the heat in your car didnt help it :P

Most likely - if you had it for 8 years - the hard drive had eaten iteself. Those small ones generally don't last much more than 5/6 years. Just plop that out and replace it with a new one - problem solved.

Would be problem solved... except I got mad at it and punched it so hard the screen broke too =P

So did I! Almost.. I replaced the glass of my touch, bought it on ebay for 2$ from Hong Kong, when I installed it I totally broke the stuff inside and now it sticks together with sticky tape c:
Finally I bought a mobile phone that is epic and has loong battery lasting :3 (No Apple inside C: )

They aren't, but loads of stores have a backlog they never shifted due to it being unpopular for no apparent reason that I can work out....

Zune's are worse than Ipods. you'll just get stuck using the zune software which is like iTunes but worse in every way. there are plenty of Mp3 players better than both ipod or zune that are cheaper, easier to use, and have more function.

Really? I tried a friend's out and it seems fine to me. :/ In fact, it seemed pretty similar to iTunes.

and if there are better players (with at least 50gb capacity) name them, i'm all ears.

Damn i take it back then XD i just went looking and it's a lot harder to find something with that capacity than it was a year ago. seemed like everything is trying to copy a smart phone now >_<. honestly I;ve used both zune and ipods and for something with that capacity i think the ipod is going to be a better choice. i know they probably refused to fix your 8 year old ipod but Microsoft will be worse about the repairs. My friends seemed to complain a lot about the support or lack of it when his broke inexplicably a year after he got it.

also im pretty sure it will get warm in your car sometime with the sun. I used to live near new york and as much as we complained how it was never warm the car could get fucking hot in the sun sometimes. even once a month is enough to damage it in the heat of a car.

Hehe, round where I live it seriously, actually hardly ever gets warm.. I mean, this year alone we've had a total of seventeen sunny days, every other day it's either been rain or clouds x.x

Plus, when i'm not in the car I usually take it into the house with me so I can dock it to my radio...

And the testimonies I've got from my mate about his original Zune 120 is that they're easier to repair than iPods (I take iPods apart and repair them for my mates)

oh well if you know how to do the repairs yourself then i would agree Apple products are horrible to work with.

My Ipod Nano is still working after about 4 years. It'll crack any minute now.

Idk though, Nanos have solid state memory so they might be a bit tougher...

Not gonna lie, I don't tend to have issues with my Apple products lol. Though I did still find the comic hilarious X3

I mean, what's all that fuss with Apple? I have never put my paws on an Apple product, or seen it in a store. People here use cheap mobile phones with 16Gb microSD cards, and are happy to have music and texting integrated. A person with an iPod is regarded gay and blatantly rich. :D

I dunno, I think some people just seem to like the style a lot... :/
