Luca's father, Adriano Flavius Leone, was no fatherly role model, to put it mildly... Luca saw his father maybe once a month, his son was not much more to him than a tool to continue the Leone bloodline. As long as Luca did as told, his father was satisfied.
Once Luca turned Wolf, his daddy's became very eager to attain the immortality that Luca had. He started hiring doctors from all over, to try and find a way to transfer Luca's healing onto him. For the first year, Luca was treated to experiments while still residing in the Leone household. His father received blood transfusions from him, ingested Luca's organs, did whatever crazy idea the doctors came up with to find a way to turn Flavius into a Wolf. After a while his father became fed up with the lack of results, and threw him in that torture dungeon where Luca would eventually meet Jamie.
