Written as a simplified duet for alto saxophone and piano, this is my take on a melody originally called "Thaxted," written as the theme for Jupiter from Gustav Holst's "The Planets." Later, in 1921, Sir Cecil Spring Rice penned different words to the song, and the British have since then sang it as a patriotic song: "I Vow to Thee, My Country." The latter was what I had in mind when I wrote this.
