The Doe of My Nightmares... (Ch. 12)
This is why you never have kids... If it's not the fear of them eventually falling victim to your descending madness or suffering at the hands of your (literally) possessive demon, it's THEM causing your distress and possibly screwing everyone over. And yep, Lucy's the one transforming others and using cards here! Of course, she's still got that "wild card" nature to where you dunno what she'll really do: you won't know if she's ready to play a card, do something herself, or simply chuck random things at your head because they're "close enough." Maybe she could also turn Lyle into something that can wield a more powerful or deadly version of the Homerun Harry bat?
As for the other two kids, here's to hoping Daisy isn't going to have several magical meltdowns from Vadrigar's pressure and Alexis' newfound scariness-- Vadrigar would make her regret destroying his domain... --and here's also to hoping that Claire won't be in too much danger from being forced into ALL types of "magical-ness." Also, in case anyone still needs clarity: magic isn't always about flashy fireballs nor transformation, the general nature of magic is to manipulate your surroundings by non-physical means. I know it sounds silly, but there's a reason that actual witches or actual spells DO exist: it might not be summoning familiars nor turning lead to gold, but it does involve things like manifestation or manipulating the physical body even. Admittedly, my family does make mention of a great-grandfather who was a priest with hands that healed, and I've pulled a "Serra" myself with dreams that revealed things or my mother getting her own "feelings" about things (she "sensed" my grandfather's early death shortly before the car accident). THAT is the sort of magic you'll find Claire to have, and the others of her world. Technically, it's NOT a spoiler, since I've revealed she IS magical and even when she can't do the same things Alexis can... currently.
