Biking from Auckland to one of the peaks of the Waitakere Ranges shouldn't be too hard, right?
What better way is there to see some of the towns of the North Island and much of the natural beauty, right?
Besides, ya just picked up that bike off of Trademe, it should go smoothly!
Well, Google did a good job of directing me through the right streets and paths, and warned me that it was 400m above my starting location... Google maps however neglected to mention the total 2km of cumulative incline from all the hills and dips along the way...

Do TRIPLE-check the size and quality of bikes you're buying second-hand.
