Ahh, yes. 4th of July in Hawai'i.
One of three days where it's completely normal to see a literal wall of smoke flow down the mountain, towards town. Where old people and asthmatics have to spend the night in hospitals or hotels with A/C, and a few thousand dead birds wash up on shore in the morning.
I miss the energy and the noise, but man, I sure don't miss the smell or the gasping.
