Another entry to Poetigress's Thursday Prompt
this time on the keywords 'the room.'
So which room might we be talking about here?
And who might be in it waiting for her lover to arrive?
Ping! Oh yah, instant sonnet. Wait, weren't these
things supposed to be hard?

I know this cannot last for very long.
My thoughts as, pillow hugged, I wait for him.
But this I've thought for years. So is it wrong?
Might not be for a love sparked but by whim.
Well, more than that, almost a dare, a joke.
That first kiss--'Don't eat her!'--yes, naught but fun.
Our friends all laughed, but in me there was smoke.
In him too: same fire, hotter than the Sun.
Is this just lust, or is it something more?
Sharp fangs, big ears, it's rather plain to see.
What purposes blind Nature made us for:
One hunts in stealth, one, hopeless, tries to flee.
I smile. A soft nose nudges at the door.
Into the room he slinks, sniffing my spoor.
