John 3 became the 9th ruler of the Kingdom of Normania, overthrowing his elder sister Queen Eleanor 1st in 616.
Although his seizure of power was controversial, he was a good administrator of his kingdom and very protective of his younger brother, the future John 4.
He had a certain hatred of his sister, who deliberately wounded him in the face when he was 8 years old, causing him to lose sight in his right eye.
He died mysteriously in 628 at the age of just 30.
