I have a hesitant Headcanon that since Zelda and Angela are seemingly immortal, these aren't all au's, they're just different points during the eternal timeline of their lives where things are interesting instead of endless wastelands
And part of that headcanon is the idea that they are physical manifestations of their own internal state of mind, and thats why they're so different physically across the times as well. Zelda has been feeling more nimble, smol, and affectionate for a few hundred years, their body changes slightly to reflect it. Angela for some reason is intellectually regressing whether due to laziness or shutting out too many trauma memories, and her build changes to fit the dull-edged bulk of a creature she feels herself to be at this time.
After all, if humans got to where we are in the span of about 10,000 years, who's to say the world isn't totally rewritten with disasters and new civilizations every 20 or 30? if Zelda and Angela are immortal, then i'd guess they'd be around for as long as the world they live on will be. Even if it took 50,000 years for things to turn over between chapters, that's still tens of thousands of different civilizations to rise and fall before the Earth's resources burn in 1.5 billion, and after that another 4 or 5 billion before the sun literally expands so far it consumes the planet.
After that, maybe Zelda and Angela get to live with Santa on the sun, which is apparently where Santa Lives according to CS Lewis XD

i like that idea of shifting and changing... and it actually works with my original ideas i had for their species(before they were even that) that their bodys/markings/etc changed and came about with how their lives went...
the only series where it is an actual wasteland or at least some kind of post apocalyptic is that super ancient one i did recently or the metro inspired one with big zelda..
space stuff isnt likely for me to draw or think about. i like space stuff but not that much or just dont want to draw it. at least the more tech mech spaceship type of stuff as i am not very good at it lol (excluding those enviromental things i did before those i do like.)
i love these comments making me think things
