These little fellas (as Rolf Harris would probably put it) are Oriental Short-clawed Otters (Aonyx cinereus cinereus) I saw at the Cotswold Wildlife Park in Oxfordshire. I haven't been very lucky with otters in the past -- they've tended to skulk inside when I've wandered over to their enclosures -- so I was very pleased to make the most of some reasonably good weather this time around.

They're so cute. I love how clear and crisp the photo is, too. One of the best things about your wildlife photography is that you can actually see what the animals look like, and in such detail! They really look like you could reach out and pet them. I'm glad they finally decided to show themselves a bit for you this time, too.
*hugs* Thank you very much! =:) I was pretty lucky, as there hadn't been that much sunshine that day, and it wasn't long before the time came to go home. One last look around that part of the park, and bingo! Otters being the playful types they are, I was hopeful that they'd give me a nice pose at some point, and so they did. =:)
I haven't checked, as FA doesn't (does it?) have a way of checking stats easily, but I think this is the first time anything I've posted here has got into double figures in terms of number of favouritings. (Lioness investigates is still way out in the lead on the views front.) It's pretty encouraging, actually. =:)
