The overall collection of matters is yet ongoing, unfortunately! I HOPE the worst is over but there is no way to be certain. The mental health system still has no idea how to help many people, and often just throws pills at them or locks them up and expects issues to work themselves out.
A big part of the trouble was that person TRYING to quit medications but amidst that taking bad advice from the internet about self-medicating and ending up worse than before, but also believing in non-scientific concepts that may have created an especially fertile environment for negative thought cycles.
So did I. If I wasn't being told to just "get a different psychiatrist / try a different medication" I was suggested to do shit like buy research chemicals online to ingest (?!) or LSD off TOR. So then I just obsessively tried out a million herbal supplements only to realize I can't digest capsules. Getting a pill cutter and manually tapering off SSRIs was something I should've done sooner, but my brain was legit fried from being heavily medicated so long.
Ooof, yeah. I wish there was some way to have a system where you can pick your own meds, but idk how that wouldn't also end up a mess, especially with the recent anti-empiricism bent half the internet is on right now. We probably just need more doctors so we can retire the useless ones.
