Yes. In Rufus' defense, it should be noted that he has triumphed over a very nasty curse. King Maurice's enemies paid a mage to capture a kitsune and bind it with the prince while he was still in the womb, so that he would be born as a fox kit. The intent was was that the kit would be killed at birth or shortly afterward, but that didn't happen. Rufus is doing quite well as a kitsune-possed fox, and the kitsune tries to behave itself, but it is stuck with him until the day he dies.
Yes, it's hard to keep a complicated story clear using nothing but word bubbles! Also I worry about spoiling the action with too much text. Anyway… here's a little text snippet from the next page I'll be putting out. It doesn't go into detail about Rufus' curse, but explains a bit about kitsune biology and inheritance:
Apologies have been attempted, and explanations offered, and Lady Jasmine has been assured her seven kits, although quite royal, are not even a little bit kitsune. A new kitsune can only be created by the willing efforts of two kitsune and two or more earthly beings working as a team. In Sushi’s case there were three earthly beings: Rufus, Garth, and Cricket. FlimFlame would likely agree to another go at kitsune making, if asked nicely, but Jasmine will not be volunteering her womb for such an enterprise any time soon. Or ever. Looks like Sushi will be the prince’s only one.
By the way, when do we get another Exchange Student chapter? I want to see where your story goes next!

It's definitely a hard balance to get right but you're humour keeps things easy to read. And OK, thanks, looking forward to the next part!
And thanks for your interest! I've had some serious writers block for the past while, oddly enough I know exactly where I want the story to go, Kyoko's part at least, so it should just be a matter of sitting down and writing it. I have a few days off so hopefully might get something further done ;)
