Andreas is one of my latest characters. He is a Andean Cock-of-the-rock (the national bird of Peru) and was inspired by the movie Rio and a children's book about the rainforest my 3rd grade teacher read to my class.
I've always loved the coloration of this particular bird and picked it out specifically because hardly anyone seems to have ever heard of it. I'm hoping I can get the chance to see a real one in the wild one day.

Lovely avian character you have created here, Rush! I've never heard of this type of bird before! (It's really neat to discover new bird species I'm unfamiliar with!) He's a very cute orange bird! I love how his species is the national bird of Peru! Nice work you received from Spiritto!
It's a fairly obscure bird though honestly I'm kinda surprised that it is since it's a national bird. I've only ever seen it mentioned once and that was in the children's book my teacher read to me, I really haven't found all that much info on the bird outside of a few random tidbits.
In either case I plan on getting more art of this character, I actually want to have Spiritto whip up a character sheet for him like the one she did for Manu's girlfriend.
