Business Starter Fundraising!
Help me reach my goal?
Intro:
I've been working on this quietly behind the scenes for a long while now. Despite health issues and a never ending battle with the NHS, and perhaps because of that, I want to start really working for my dreams. I've had experience of doing business before making costumes and art, but owning my own shop and helping the environment is my true calling! Unfortunately, i've stuck myself in a bit of a hole and seemingly unable to climb higher than my current position - paycheck to paycheck living has made it hard to save anything, so I figure it's time to start again. Any help would be truly truly appreciated, and if you'd like to know anything else just ask! Oh and don't worry, I'll still be doing art comms on top of this! ❤️❤️
So, what's the business?
"Pocket Wilds" focusses on our local environment. I sell UK-native plants in and around the North East of the UK (like Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Sunderland, and surrounding areas.) Literally delivering a tiny piece of wilderness that could fit in your pocket, to suit any home/garden, or pot. My website allows you to filter and sort by price (which will hopefully beat most other competitors!) But also pet friendliness, sun shade, and plant size. Each listing also notes pollen levels, helping out those who may suffer from allergies. These are all things that you usually can't find out easily at your local garden center, and makes it much easier for you to shop for what will work best in your garden.
The site also offers free garden advice and tips for eco and wildlife friendliness, and also sells a few fruit and veggie plants too so you can grow your own produce!
Sure, it's a business, but my first priority will be to bring back our nature and not to make a profit - I'll keep my prices low and put nature first. I already have over 100 species of plants in a list to eventually sell, with a starting catalogue of over 60! Right now the available plants are so small because I grow each from seed and only sell when they're a little bigger, but rest assured, with more funding and a bit of time, we'll have a really nice selection for you all to choose from! 🍓🌿
