I am not the best at drawing buildings or rigid structures so they come out wonky looking, but I still like what I have made anyway.
I got the idea for this character from an episode of Pokemon Horizons a friend showed me, where a ship got lost in the fog only for a Lapras to show up and helpfully lead them back to shore. The Ship was saved but mysteriously they were missing some of their cargo...Turns out the Lapras is a Pirate! She is running a con where she creates the fog for ships to get lost in, and then playing into the known stereotype that Lapras's help sailors she'll show up to lead and distract the sailors while the rest of her pokemon crew board the ships to steal any food they can find.
I like that the heroes don't treat this as Evil. This is just these pokemon's way of surviving, and even if it's underhanded they are not going out of their way to hurt people. The shipping companies will survive with some of their cargo missing, but these pokemon won't if they don't eat.
The name Ligeia comes from one of the Sirens in Greek Mythology whose voices are used to mislead sailors so it seemed fitting. (Also the name of an Edgar Allen Poe story) her name means "Clear Voiced - Melodious, or Whistling"
I imagine she's a bit like a cynical team mom. She tries to play it cool, acting stoic like she doesn't care, she is cunning and savvy knowing how to trick sailors by using what they expect her to be like, but with her crew she is the caretaker. She pretends not to care and acts tough on them, but they all kinda know what she's about and has their best interests in mind.
