Originally an English folk song called "The Three Ravens" in which the titular ravens comment on the loyalty of the hawk and hound and lady that are mourning over a fallen knight. It was first printed in Thomas Ravenscroft's Melismata of 1611.
"The Twa Corbies" is a later Scottish parody of it in which two crows debate on where they should have their next meal. They settle on the fallen knight who has already been abandoned and forgotten by his hawk and hound and lady love.
I like both versions of the song, but the parody has a quicker pacing and no repeated lines which makes it fun to sing or recite.
